Quick and Easy Fruit Tree Card created for Chocolate Baroque

Another quick and easy card for you today.

This 6 X 6 inch card was created with the Fantasy Woodland along with the verse from the Tall Trees stamp sets. Images were stamped with Vintage Sepia Versafine Ink. Colouring was really quick and easy using watercolour brush pens. A small 'dab' of colour was quickly laid down onto the darker areas of the image, indicated by the stamp detail. A damp brush was then used to draw out the colour giving shading and tonal variation, really quick and easy. The edge of the stamping card was inked with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and the roughed up using the edge of my scissors. PVA pearls and faux stitching was added. I then added Glossy Accents over the apples for added shine. Just about achievable in 15 mins x.

Happy Birthday card created for Chocolate Baroque

Good afternoon. This was another of my recent show samples created for Chocolate Baroque using the Fantasy Woodland and Tall Trees stamp sets.

Materials:

• DL card blank and white stamping card
• Fantasy Woodland, Tall Trees and Birthday Words stamp sets
• Inkpads: Versamark, Marvy Matchables (Purple dye based)
• Embossing Powder (Crafters Companion Holo Twinkle)
• Water based inks (Spectrum Noir Aquatints, Lyndy’s Stamp Gang Spritzers) and Brusho Powders
• Alcohol marker (purple)
• Fine tipped marker (opaque white)

How it was done:

1. The main tree and sentiment were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with the white sparkle powder.
2. The background was coloured with water based inks and some Brusho crystal dropped into the wet inks.
3. The background trees and foliage were stamped with dye based ink.
4. Touches of white pen were added to extend the scene and highlight. The topper was edged with the purple marker to frame and glued to the card front.

Autumn Birthday Card created for Chocolate Baroque

Good afternoon. Catching up on a bit of blogging today. This was another of my recent show samples using the Autumn Edges stamp set from Chocolate Baroque.

Materials:

• Autumn Edges, Birthday Words and Tall Trees stamp sets
• 15cm Kraft card blank, white stamping card
• Inkpads: Versamark, Distress inks (Scattered Straw, Tea Dye), Versafine (Vintage Sepia)
• WOW embossing powder (Metallic Gold Sparkle)
• Water based sparkle pens (red, gold, purple, green)
• Gelato stick (Lemon)
• Glitter glue (gold)
• Shaped die for sentiment topper

How it was done:
The edge was stamped directly onto the card front with Versamark and heat embossed with gold sparkle powder. Coloured with sparkle pens. The yellow Gelato was dissolved in water and painted around the border.
The topper was stamped with Versafine and blended with Distress Inks. Glued to the card with 3D gel for added depth. Finished with a little glitter glue.

Quick and Easy Tall Trees Scene card created for Chocolate Baroque

Good morning. Today I am sharing a quick and easy card using stamps from the Tall Trees and Words of Wisdom stamp sets. The background was created by spritzing and splattering with lime green and bright pink ink sprays. I then quickly stamped the trees with lime and dark green ink. The sentiments were stamped in dark green ink. I used green alcohol marker to frame the image before gluing to the card and added faux stitching with a fine tipped pen. I finished with the obligatory PVA pearls and clear glitter glue for sparkle (I just cannot help myself – tee hee).

Materials:

• Tall Trees and Words of Wisdom stamp sets
• A5 blank card
• Heavy cartridge paper
• Spray inks (lime with mica and bright pink)
• Dye based inkpad (dark green)
• Alcohol marker and fine tipped pen (dark green)
• PVA pearls and clear glitter glue

How to make it:

1. Lightly spritz and splatter the background with lime green and bright pink ink sprays.
2. Quickly stamp some of the trees by picking up lime ink from your craft mat. Repeat stamp some without re-inking. Lightly spritz the stamp with water and stamp again to give some lovely splodged images and a watercolour effect. Repeat with the dark green ink.
3. Stamp the sentiments with dark green ink.
4. Use the alcohol marker to frame the image before gluing to the card and added faux stitching with a fine tipped pen.
5. Finish with PVA pearls and clear glitter glue for sparkle.

Butterfly scene cards created for Chocolate Baroque

Good morning. For my texture project today I have made 2 variations of a butterfly scene card.

I have used ink spritzing and stamping with texture stamps to create interesting backgrounds. I have used the large gem slice stamp and heat embossing with sparkling pink powder to add a colourful textured foreground for my scene. The butterflies were also stamped and embossed, then coloured and cut out.
Both scenes were created in the same way but I took one of them a step further by mounting on a larger card with a textured embossing powder border (using heat resistant tape to adhere the powder before heating), die cut foliage and floral gems, finishing with another of the lovely stamped butterflies. Of course I just had to add PVA pearls and glitter in there too.
We have all had so much fun creating with this month’s theme of texture.
Materials:

• Just Butterflies, Nature Fragments, Abstract Fragments and Tall Trees stamp sets
• 12 X 15cm and 15 X 17cm white card blanks
• 11 X 14cm watercolour card
• Ink spritzers (lime green with mica and bright pink)
• Watercolour pens for colouring and background stamping (green, teal, blue, pink and purple)
• Glitter pens (blue and green)
• Heat embossing powders (cerise with glitter, and textured mix of fine and chunky pink, black and white)
• Inkpad for stamping trees (dark green)

• Alcohol markers for edging card and colouring die cuts (green and pink)
• Floral shaped faux gems (pink and blue)
• PVA pearls (purple)
• Heat resistant double sided tape (Wonder Tape - for heat embossed border)
• Foliage Dies (Sizzix, Tim Holtz Garden Greens)

Quick and Easy scene card created for Chocolate Baroque

This is a quick scene project using the Tall Trees stamp set. This set is gorgeous and is on a special offer at the moment.

Materials:

• Tall Trees and Mackintosh Sentiments stamp sets
• A6 white card blank (suitable for stamping)
• Inkpads: Distress Inks (Gathered Twigs and Peeled Paint)
• Fine tipped pen (green and brown)
• Gold glitter glue
• Water brush

Step By Step:

1. Stamp the tree with the green and brown Distress Ink.
2. Extend the scene and anchor the tree using the fine tipped brown pen. Quickly colour the scene with the Distress Inks and a water brush.
3. Draw a border with the green pen and blend the edges using Distress Inks.
4. Stamp the sentiment with the brown Distress Ink.
5. Finished with a little glitter glue.

Really quick and easy.

Quick and Easy Scene Cards and Tag created for Chocolate Baroque

The gorgeous stamps from Chocolate Baroque are so versatile and can be used in so many different ways, from complex mixed media pieces to really quick and simple cards. This month we have been asked to create some quick projects which take under 15 minutes to make.

Here are some quick scene projects for you using the Tall Trees stamp set. This set is on a special offer at the moment.

Materials:

• Tall Trees and Mackintosh Sentiments stamp sets
• A6 white card blank (suitable for stamping) and tag cut from watercolour card
• A6 purple card blank, white stamping card, pale turquoise card (for layering)
• Inkpads: Distress Inks (Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers) and dye ink (purple)
• Alcohol ink pen (dark purple)
• Glitter glues (turquoise and purple) and PVA pearls (turquoise)
• Watercolour brush and spritzer bottle

The cards and tag were stamped using Distress Inks. To create the quick scene on the white card I stamped the tree three times without re-inking the stamp. On the purple card and tag I lightly spritzed the paper with water and used a brush to drag out and spread the ink and gift a softer diffuse effect. I used the purple marker to outline the card, tag and topper – just to give it a frame. They were finished with the stamped sentiment, glitter glues and PVA pearls. Really quick and easy.

My Project with the free digital paper download from Chocolate Baroque

Good morning. Have you seen this month’s lovely new digital paper download on the Chocolate Baroque Challenge Blog? The gorgeous Shabby Paint background. I immediately saw mountains and water so decided to create a scene with mine.

Materials:

• Shabby Paint free download paper
• Fantasy Castles, Magical Landscapes and Tall Trees stamp sets
• 20.5cm square card base, white stamping card and piece of waste acetate
• Inkpads: Ranger Archival (Coffee), Distress Inks (Gathered Twigs, Forest Moss), Memento (London Fog), Versamark
• WOW Embossing Powder (Olive)
• Spectrum Aqua watercolour pens (browns, turquoise, green)
• Alcohol marker and fine tipped permanent pen (brown)
• Stickles glitter glue (Crystal)
• PVA pearls (turquoise) and Ranger Glossy Accents

How it was done:

1. Printed the paper onto A4 and trimmed to 19.5cm to mat onto the card base. Outlined with brown marker and blended Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs) in around the edges.
2. Stamped the castle onto white card. Extended the rocks by drawing with a fine marker. Coloured with watercolour pens and Distress Inks using a wet brush. Cut out to layer onto the background.
3. Stamped the castle onto acetate with Distress Ink (Gathered Twigs), then transferred the ink onto the background paper to create a mirror image reflection. Then glued down the stamped and coloured castle image over the top.
4. Used the fine tipped marker to draw in further details to the scene – creating the mountains and foreground. Stamped the clouds with Memento Ink.
5. Stamped the tree with Versamark and heat embossed with the Olive powder. Further coloured the image with watercolour pens and Distress Inks.
6. Finished with some glitter on the mountain tops, Glossy Accents on the castle domes, and PVA pearls.
