Crafters Companion CAS Challenge Blog

Frou Frou

So Quick & Easy – Clean and Simple Project:

1. Printed Frou Frou Vanity Digikit Image onto white paper (Crafters Companion UK).

2. Lightly inked raised area of Darice Chandelier Embossing folder (Crafters Companion UK) and debossed left hand side of image. Opened out folder, turned and debossed again on right hand edge – extending the swirls.

3. Used black spectrum noir pen (Crafters Companion UK) to draw light lines at base of ladies feet (so she wasn’t floating in mid air), and to edge the paper and give it a frame. Simply mounted onto white card.

Clarity Stamp – Feb Challenge – Love & Romance Theme

DSCF2402

Love the new Feb Club Member stamp – thought I would create a sixties flower power theme that was not too girly. Perhaps this will be someone's valentine card this year?

1. On white card sprayed alcohol inks through floral stencils (Spritzer tool with Promarkers).

2. Cut flowers from recycled corrugated brown card (Tim Holtz Tattered Flowers Bigz die) and coloured with acrylic paints. Overstamped randomly with Staz-on and edged with black marker.

3. Stamped Clarity Stamp heart with Staz-on and coloured letters with promarker – carefully so as not to cause stamped ink to bleed. Outlined the design with white gel pen to make image pop from background.

4. Repeat stamped with distress ink over the background – light coloured ink to blend the design together.

5. Applied versamark through a heart stencil around the stamped image. Embossed with clear embossing powder. Repeated until achieved nice glassy finish.

6. Edged card with promarker then blended distress ink in from card edges and around the embossed heart to make it pop from the busy background.

7. Pierced the card border and used a fine marker to create faux stitching.

8. Mat & layered onto card front with black card and finished with a little distress ink blending around the scalloped card.
